Legacy Python Release: In Development

Why Recode?

The recode moves pyIDE from the original Python and PySide6 foundation toward a native C++ desktop application.

  • Keep the useful editor, project, run, settings, and compiler workflows.
  • Improve responsiveness and expansion room.
  • Do not claim a public v2.0 download before one exists.
Legacy Python Version vs C++ Recode Goal

The legacy release is available today. The v2.0 C++ recode is still under development.

  • Legacy: Python with PySide6.
  • v2.0 direction: native C++ application.
  • AI Desktop Assistant: experimental and permission-controlled.
Milestone Timeline

Milestones are development notes, not release guarantees.

  • Permission-controlled project tools are being tested.
  • Tool orchestration and AI project context are being refined.
  • Public v2.0 release date has not been announced.
Development News

June 2026 notes focus on the AI assistant, scoped tools, and project context.
