Sharing reports

Review exported TXT reports and ZIP diagnostic packages before sending them to a carrier, manufacturer, repair shop, or technician.

Choose the export type

  • Use the readable TXT report when the recipient needs an overview that is easy to open.
  • Use the complete ZIP package when the recipient needs the main report plus individual capture files.

Review checklist

  1. Open the TXT report.
  2. Confirm that the issue description is accurate.
  3. Check the privacy-mode line near the top.
  4. Scan for identifiers you do not want to share.
  5. When using a ZIP package, inspect its file list before attaching it.
  6. Send the package only to a trusted recipient who needs it for the support request.

Good issue-description details

  • When the problem started.
  • Whether a system update, app install, drop, water exposure, or other event happened first.
  • Which actions commonly reproduce the problem.
  • Whether the phone becomes unusually warm.
  • Whether service, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, charging, or battery life changed.
  • Whether the device restarts, freezes, or fully powers off.

Recipients

A diagnostic package may be useful when working with a device manufacturer, carrier support team, trusted repair shop, or experienced technician. The recipient decides whether the captured information is sufficient for the next troubleshooting step.

After the case is finished

Delete old diagnostic packages and backups when they are no longer required, or move them into secure storage if you need to retain them.
